Stray Doumeki I
Props to flakedice for inspiring the beginning of this series! My apologies for not giving you props earlier!
What would life be like for Doumeki if Watanuki couldn’t stray from his side? I bet it would be a lot happier after a while, but very funny in the beginning. Of course, to Doumeki’s way of thinking, it would be very noisy in the beginning. OC added to start story off, but she’ll be taken out by the end of the first 3 chapters. Kiki-chan will appear throughout the whole series as a background character.
Watanuki makes a wish in a fountain, after being rejected by Himawari-chan. His wish? Someone he can’t stray too far from, who will love him for who he is. Unfortunately, his wish backfires. Now he is stuck to Doumeki-san, his superior at work, and can’t stray too far from him without disastrous effects. What will life be like for these two, now that they must be stuck together for the rest of their lives?

Doumeki didn’t know when it had happened. It had to have started when they were very little. Yes, that’s right, around his 9th birthday, that’s when he had first met his cousin Kiki-chan. Kiki-chan couldn’t speak at the time; the shock from her parent’s death was still a heavy burden on her. She had taken to following him everywhere shortly after they met. They soon became inseparable. All that had changed, though, when she turned 12 and was sent to live their relatives in Hokkaido. Everyone said it was unhealthy for both of them to always someone by their sides. How surprised they would be if they saw him now!
“Oi. Hurry up.” Doumeki called out to a smaller, pale boy who was following several paces behind him. The boy flushed and sputtered angrily, although his words quickly faded and he bowed his head again. “Watanuki. Hurry up. Don’t walk so far behind me.”
Watanuki flushed again and quickened his pace. “Just for the record, it’s not like I’m actually trying to follow you or anything.”
‘Yeah, yeah. I know, I know. I was there when this whole mistake happened…’ thought Doumeki to himself.
He should have know today was a bad day to take a short cut through the park. He should have known bumping into Watanuki in the park was not a good sign. He should have known that interrupting Watanuki’s confession to Kunogi was a bad omen. He should have gotten out of there as quickly as possible. Instead, he had stayed to tease Watanuki and now look at him. He was stuck with Watanuki. He would have to air out the guest bedroom when they got home (hopefully they wouldn’t have to sleep together because of this) and show Watanuki around the temple. After all, even if it was Watanuki’s fault they were still going to be stuck together for life. Literally.
