I figured I'd start off anew (I've had this journal for a long time, but I've not done anything with it for a long time. I want to kind of have a new theme for it. Rather than the rants of a frustrated college student, I'd like my entries to be more encouraging and have more depth to them. Non-superficial. So, I'm starting with the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (which is on my Myspace page as well). I find it appropriate, and I really feel called to be a vessel of reconciliation and peace.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith'
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
