Nobody turns us down. We're like the Mob, only less violent.

So I'm slightly overwhelmed by the fact that somehow an entire month has gone by since I last posted on LJ. I've had an awesome month and a lot has happened, so I'm not even going to try and describe it all.

In fact, I'm just going to pick 2 things that happened. Firstly, I went to Charlotte, North Carolina and it was awesome. I had a brilliant chilled out time down there and the weather was awesome. It's nice to get out of the city and take a breather, cos you don't realise how much you're running on empty until you take the time away from NYC. We lounged by a lake, by a river, whilst drinking in a beer garden, at a rose garden and basically anywhere else that we wanted. It was good and restful and brilliant.

Secondly, last night I went to a lecture on particle physics and the ATLAS experiment that's going on a the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. I'd forgotten how much I love science. It's been ages since I used any of that knowledge, and I forget how much I enjoy it and love the debate. Anyway, it was a really interesting lecture that was moderated by Alan Alda (of MASH and West Wing fame) who was funny and added a little humour to proceedings.

So in other exciting news my dad arrives today! Wooo. I'm so excited. I won't actually be seeing him tonight as he gets in pretty late, but I'll be meeting up with him tomorrow. Gonna be awesome.
