"I honestly don't know from where you guys get the nerve." "From a long, hard winter"

So the snow-icane has hit NYC and the snow just keeps on coming. I really don't think it's stopped since before I got up yesterday morning. All was fine and dandy yesterday cos although it snowed all day, as it was still pretty warm and so it wasn't settling. Overnight that all changed. This morning I woke up to 2 inches of compacted ice on the road and sidewalk, topped with about 5 inches of snow. Apparently the snow plows of Newport have not been very successful over night.

However, being the good conscientious employee that I am, I braved the snow and came to work. I was only about 15 minutes late. And now as I sit here I can see the snow just blizzarding down. I really hope there aren't any power lines that go down or anything, cos my PATH train home is electric and there's no other way for me to get back across (under) the river. It would be sad if I was trapped in the city.

In other news I have continued my harassed life at work. The job is brilliant and I love the challenge, but I'm starting to get a bit stressed that I'm way out in an entire ocean of out of my depth. It's not like I'm just a little out there, I'm literally struggling to keep my head above the water. Adds to the spice of life. I now have 26 clients who are my clients and that scares the bejesus out of me. I have no clue as to what I'm supposed to do with them, and now each time they call the office I have to speak to them and they ask questions and I just try to be reassuring and not commit to anything. It's pretty stressful.

What else?! Going to see the Billie Jean Cup on Monday which should be pretty cool. The players are Kim Clijsters, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Venus Williams and Ana Ivanovic. Should be a good set of games!

I'm supposed to be going to Philly tomorrow, but with the snow both here and there, I'm feeling it's increasingly doubtful. Oh well. I can go frolic in the snow at either Liberty Park or Central Park tomorrow instead. Ever since I invested in snow boots that keep my toesies toasty warm I have loved the snow.

I went to see Shutter Island earlier this week and really enjoyed it. The trailer is a total and utter lie. The movie was nothing like what I expected, but still really really good. Kept me guessing all along. In fact, I couldn't even guess what was going to happen next. I think it's one of those that on a second watching you notice all the indicators for what eventually happens but that first time around made no sense.

Got massively into the women's ice skating last night. I wish I had grace and poise and didn't fall down all the time. They were amazing.

And that's me. Definitely need to catch up on White Collar, though probably won't do that tonight - I think Vin and I are gonna have a chilled movie and a pizza night.
