♠ The Opening [PART TWO] (interactive)

Dec 15, 2010 20:37

[The bed is warm. Somewhere nearby, you can hear the crackling of a fire. You almost don't want to wake, and it's only as you start to drift back to sleep that you realize something: You shouldn't be here. You sit up quickly, but before you can think on it there's a loud pounding at the door.

Upon investigation, you meet Daniel Rutherford. He's a tall man, wearing a serious expression as he practically drags you into the hall. He's kind, but he's got a job to do, and doesn't really want to explain this mess more than once. So, he's gathered you all into one place--the common room of the tenant house.

There's someone with him, though she stands off to the side. She's Sarah Anderson, one of the locals, and she gives off the feeling that she doesn't want to be there. In fact, she'd been sent to watch the proceedings by her aunt...Not that Daniel knew this.]

Alright, before you all start panicking, you should know that you'll eventually make it back to wherever you're from. For now, though, you're stuck here. So get used to it.

Don't cause any problems, and you'll be fine.

[He starts to walk away but Sarah stops him, blocking the way down the stairs.]

Daniel, we should at least answer any questions they have. [She had no idea what was going on, only that these people didn't belong here. How they'd gotten there, she didn't know, but she could see the confusion on their faces.]

Fine. If any of you have any questions we'll be over here.

[Welcome to Avon! This post marks the opening of the game, and there are a number of things your character can do. They can mingle and interact with one another, or speak to the NPC's. They can even return to your room to investigate. It should be noted, however, that when alone for too long the shadows seem to move, playing tricks with the eyes. There may even be strange sounds that come from nowhere; voices calling your name, whispers of familiar figures in your past or present in your home world, flickering, shimmering traces through the air that disappear as soon as you turn to look at them.

Oh well, it's probably nothing...right?]
