That's one way to put this. I am glad that there is at least one native English speaker that understands Japanese here.
Both fires came from the forest, and this second one has not only left us not understanding each other, but it has caused the city to disappear, as well as that odd message. I think we should get who we can together and figure out who can understand what language, so we can keep everyone informed on what is happening.
If they want to cut off our communication, they will need to try a bit harder.
It's hard to tell that when every language was apparently somehow translated up until now... [He sighs and hesitates for a moment, in thought.] You know, it might be a pretty decent thing that this happened, because I never actually gave much thought to the fact that they were translating in the first place. But now, it's not just like they'e stopped translating everything we say... They've left us able to speak only one language, even if we'd initially been able to speak more.
[Asagi nods and moves to sit on the arm of one of the couches.] It reminds me of the story of the Tower of Babel. I suppose it is fortunate that we were left with the spoken understanding of other languages we knew at least.
