It's good that the Doctor let everyone know what to do to suppress an outbreak of plague, but as viruses have a way of spreading whether we like them to or not, I thought I should note that many of the symptoms related to the varied forms of plague can seem quite innocent at first.
Pnuemonic Plague tends to start with cold-like symptoms, such as a cough, fevers, headaches and exhaustion. It will often devolve into a pneumonia and eventually get to the point that it is not treatable with medicines, and this place does not have the adequate equipment to attempt in some way to keep a person from dying once the virus has incubated within them for too long of a time.
This is likely the one that the woman who died had, as she was apparently coughing before the time of her death, at least so far as I have been able to hear.
Septicemic Plague and Bubonic Plague both show far more physical signs, although exhaustion and fever are not uncommon with them either. Watching for unusual bruising is a good idea, and if you begin having pain or trouble with your stomach in general, it would be a good idea to get to someone immediately. There are many other signs, but mostly once they've begun to show there is really very little that can be done for these either.
I know it is probably quite annoying to be told this, but if you do start feeling ill in any way, it's best you find someone in the home that knows medicine and get checked up immediately. Even if you think all that's going on is a cold, a rash, or whatever else, it is for the best to get checked anyway, as the longer one waits to begin antibiotics if they have somehow caught the plague, the worse it is and the more likely they will die.
Myself, you may find me in room 209 of St. John's. I should be in most times, so don't hesitate to come up and speak with me. I am trained as a doctor, and am not concerned about payment. For those who are unaware of who I am, the name is Jin Uzuki.
