[For a moment there is a brief burst of static--it only lasts for a second. Then, the Doctor's face is right in the camera and he's peering around at it sternly.]

There's something going on and it's not a very good something. In fact it's very, very bad and your lives are at stake. I'm the Doctor--that's a title and a name, one I chose myself, and if you're confused on that just take a moment.

I've something very important to say and our lives may very well depend on it, so if you would--

Now, it might look grim and dire and terrible but we can survive this if we pull together and get smart about it. I need a few things and you need to do as I say and trust me, it will help you live through this.
First order of business! Bathe. Keep those nasty little biters away, 'cause they love spreading yersinia. Wash your clothes too.
Second order! Air. Keep the air flowing. Wear masks if you're so inclined though since some of these lovely folks living here are getting sick already. But keep your windows cracked!
Third order! Don't leave food out. Clean things. Scrub the floors, walls, upways downways, get what you call 'vermin' out--that's rats and fleas and other things. Pakistan, you've got a cat? Come by tonight, I can give that sweet little thing a good wash. Never thought I'd say that in my life.
Fourth order! If you can't clean it, burn it. Yes, that's right. Burn it. Sorry to say but possessions are less important than spreading a plague. We can start a rubbish pile in the back garden... yard... thing of this tenant house. Burn clothes, cut off hair if you have to--and...
[The Doctor's face turns grim and pained as he immediately pauses.]
... I'm sure even the lot of you who are natives here can see this. We're going to have to burn bodies too. [He runs a hand over his face, licking fingers through his hair.]

Fifth order! Anyone with medical knowledge, meet me in the tenant house kitchen once it's clean. We're going to make us a good strong batch of streptomycin or even gentamycin. Going to need hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen--got some supplies from the TARDIS but there's not much, and some from that store down the street. Nice folks if you ask me but I digress.
Anybody who knows anything about chemistry and who can trust an old daft man in a bow tie, LINE UP.
Sixth and final order! Avoid contact. Wash your hands, use soap, that's what it's there for.
We're not going to go down without a fight, are we? No.
So you'd best do what you can and trust me, it will make a difference.
