Pearl Fey - Having watched her grow since she was little and going through all they've been through, she is more of a little sister than a cousin. Maya always saw her as a pillar of strength and thought of her whenever something bad was happening. Because of this, she was able to pull through even the most difficult times and bring out a smile despite the fact she was torn up inside.
Between being Master and Pearl's school there is very little time to spend, but she always tries to make plans to spend time with her whenever she can.
Iris Fey - Being Pearly's real sister, she feels closer to her because of it. She'd always be in touch with Hazakura temple because of her status in Kurain and as a result always kept in touch with Iris before she left. They are still great friends.
Diego Armando - Having adopted Pearl, she has able to bond and see more of him. She was shocked when he adopted Pearl and was a little iffy about how things would go being around Diego. It didn't take long to find out her fears were just in her head and that they have a very strong friendship between the two.
[Friends:] Since her growing time in Kurain, and the fact that Phoenix is not a lawyer anymore, she has lost many whom she felt were friends.
Phoenix Wright - Known since she was seventeen and tried for the murder of Mia, she spent many years helping in through his cases until his was disbarred. Even if it was a year after until she found out. She took it as a shock and can't believe it actually happened. Though she, still, doesn't know the exact circumstances, she feels that something fishy is going on. Is it her instincts or watching too many Steel Samurai movies?
Over the years, she has both seen and heard less and less from him and it is a cause for concern.
However, she is unable to do anything.
[Enemies:] She has found peace with most of whom she called enemies...mostly because they are dead. Maybe someday a certain somebody will grace this list *coughcoughhinthint* :|

Miles Edgeworth - Their friendship was never meant to last it would seem. Though nothing bad has come between them, nothing exceedingly good has come to them as well.
Trucy Wright - Through her more infrequent visits to the city, the most she knows of Trucy know is whatever Pearl tells her. She used to be really great friends with the little Trucey.
Larry Butz - She thinks of Larry's cheesy pick-up lines as more of a compliment rather than a "hey I wanna bang you" line. He's weird to her.
Ema Skye - After being introduced by Phoenix after requesting some help with a christmas gift card ( way after Christmas), they casually kept contact over livejournal, but there hasn't been much growth since that.
Kristoph Gavin - She has grown ever so cautious of him ever since she noticed he was being particulary mean to Phoenix, more so than simple rivalry. She has no concreat proof and Phoenix refuses to tell her anything about him other than that he's a lawyer.
CHARACTER
[General personality:] The weirdo, naive Maya you know and love is the weirdo and naive Maya you know and love. Though she acts and speaks differently--more mature and wiser, she regresses back when around those she knows and loves. As if it was no more than an act to please everyone around Kurain.
Though her age and status has improved, her channeling hasn't fully grown but she has had improvements and now only fails some of the time. Her strong determination and will has definitely helped her in the long run.
She has taken up drawing as a side hobby even though it starts as a sort of joke. She is much better than silly mspaint drawings, but she isn't a goddess with the pencil yet, if ever.
[Appearance:] Cut off Maya's hair and put it on Mia, remove the huuuge boobs, and you have an interesting, albeit, accurate understanding of Maya.
Although not an 'acolyte-in-training' anymore, she still prefers to dress it as it feels it is more 'her' than anything else. When she was younger, she went shopping with Ema Skye and got an interesting array of clothing for her visits to the city courtesy of Miles Edgeworth, though she only wore them a few times after buying them.
Plus they don't fit.
[Background:] Maya went through a difficult life as she was raised in Kurain village having witnessing her Mother leave the village at the young age of two and her sister, Mia, long after. With her Mother legally dead as well as her older sister gone, she became the lone heir to the Kurain Channeling Technique. A position both highly praised and sought for. Though she was far to young and unskilled to take the position.
At the age of seventeen, she was called to Mia's offices to pick up some evidence for a case. Little did she know of the events that shortly followed that phone call that would take away yet another loved one. Over the course of these events she also saw herself framed for the murder of her sister. Though, through the valiant efforts of Phoenix Wright, he managed to get her the aquittal (and his own) almost by himself for the first time. Though it would have never happened if she didn't channel Mia in the 'nick' of time.
After that, she felt that she needed to help Phoenix, whom she dubbed Nick, with his work even though she didn't know much about law. It took her through some interesting cases, saving the Steel Samurai and Miles Edgeworth. But during State vs Edgeworth, her lack of knowledge and skill really showed through and after the case she decided that she would leave to Kurain to resume her training and become better so she could help Phoenix Wright better.
It wasn't until a doctor, by the name of Turner Grey, to request her to channel a person named Mimi Miney thus raveling herself and Phoenix in yet another murder case.
Afterwards, everything went fine (besides the murders) until a few months after State vs Iris when she found out that Phoenix had been disbarred. With no more cases, she slowly started coming to the city less and less. And she found herself training more and harder.
At the age of 21, she was finally dubbed the Master of Kurain and all her hard work and training finally paid off.
Though now that she has succeeded, many have stopped badgering her but now they seemed worried about when she is going to get married, which she has no interest towards. Whether or not that is because she hasn't found the right person or just her personality.
