I'm becoming a sentimental, nostalgic old fool. Ahh...albion...see? i'm writing things like 'ah,,,albion'. only lunatics and hopeless sentimentals write and think like that. C'est tragique. And it won't do in cutting, sleepy France, where the equivalent of 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder' is 'Loin des yeux, loin du coeur' (Far from the eyes is far from the heart). Nice.
I will miss blighty lots though. See?! I have never in all my born days referred to england as blighty before! Pre-emptive patriotic nostalgia, that's what I've got.
Still, it's nice to think about the things you love about home. Like stotty cake and the geordie accent, and the nice people, and the views...and the friends, and family. Obvs that's the biggest miss.
I leave home in 6 days. I'm excited and terrified all at once. Nostalgic and anticipating at the same time is a confusing way to feel. But it's also pretty awesome.
Right, off to get the serial code for laptop and phone, so I may purchase some insurance. Honestly, I'm so risk-averse I'm practically an investment for these people.
