So we went to the Salvation Army on Thanksgiving to volunteer serving dinner and I must say it was not what I was expecting. First of all, for some reason, there were a lot of older Chinese ladies. I mean like A LOT. Secondly, I saw a guy with a iPhone - and not like a knock-off or an older model or anything like that. It was really weird.

Anyways...

I thought it was going to be one of those buffet style dinners but it was more like a restaurant where the servers brought out plates of dinner for the guests. I bussed the tables and helped out the servers and whatnot for the morning but for the rest of the day, I ended up scooping stuffing onto plates in the kitchen area. Fun times.

My sister was talking to one guy who came in and he told her that he ended up on the streets when his company went bankrupt. He was in real estate. It was really sad. There were a couple of kids who came in too - most were surprisingly upbeat and cheery and talked a lot to the servers - but one kid cried and bawled when they had to leave. I felt so bad for him. :(

All in all, it was an interesting experience. My feet hurt for the next two days but it was definitely something I'll do again.

Owlie says Heellllooooo! to Madison Square Garden. See the old man in the newsboy cap? He was feeding the pigeons and owlie said he wanted some food too. :D

Just a shot of what's across the street from MSG. It was really weird to see a KMart right there. What's up with that? KMart in the middle of the city?

I was going to take pictures of the food I made for Thanksgiving but somehow in the shuffle of making the food and eating the food, I forgot. :P

So Thanksgiving dinner consisted of: garlic roasted chicken (yeah, I made chicken...you wanna fight about it? ugh, I went to Whole Foods to buy turkey breasts but the only ones they had were frickin' $22! what the fucking hell is up with that shit????), garlic mashed red potatoes, sausage-cornbread stuffing, gravy, green beans, garlic-butter Parmesan roasted corn, sugar cookies (see above), and apple crumble. Can you tell I used a lot of garlic? Hee!

After dinner, we went to go see New York I Love You... What a random movie.
