W00t, ice! I am spending just a few days in the Netherlands, but the Gods of heaven seem to have decided to bring us just these few days real Dutch winter weather, so old Dutch we almost never have it like this. Before my parent's house the water is frozen, and yesterday I SKATED!!!
First I was abit scared, on my skates on the ice, but after a few rounds it was allright again, just like when I was a kiddie. People are talking about nothing but ice and skating, and the possibility of an 'elfstedentocht': the very celebrated long-distance skating-race held in Friesland when the ice is thick enough. The last elfstedentocht was in 1996, but the forecasts are giving us hope we will have one in 2009 as well!
About the rest of my life: I am spending my days in lazyness, couch potato-ing together with my mum, knitting, reading and talking. Last Saturday I was at Marcella's, spending a day of talking and laughing and cathich up with this dear foilisigidir-friend, and Sunday I went to Iris' birthday. Of course it was lovely to see Iris again, and some other celts present at her birthday: Hanna, Daphne and Jan.
I think I might pronounce these holidays being spent well.
