Here we see the rare mountain rabbit in its natural habitat....

Am at Glasgow Prestwick airoprt on my way home. Alas. But at least I see Charley tonight :-)

Had a fantastic time skiing in Galtur, Austria: better than ever before, for two reasons. First, as had long been promised me would happen, my skiing technique "clicked" and suddenly I was making faster, better, more confident turns. No ski-school for me this year, I concentrated on piste-bashing and getting some serious mileage under my belt to keep the confidence flowing. And it worked. For the first time I was able to really ski *with* Charley - obviously he's still much much better and faster (he's been skiing since he was 3 and used to race Oxford on the Varsity ski-trip) but I could almost keep up if he didn't race, and he loved the company, and my happiness fed his, which was wonderful, and entirely the reason why I learnt to ski at all, so that was incredibly rewarding on two levels.

Also the weather was stonkingly good, which I've never had before. Yay.

And then to Ardgour, which was full of wonderful people and activities and was genuinely fantastic. And the weather came with me hurrah - now have a pleasingly tanned look to my face after being outdoors so much between skiing and hiking.

Got some nice short walks, and also one really great all-day hike: a stunning ridge-walk, which was a demanding day and (I hope!) left the group who all completeed it (despite pain!) with a real sense of achievement. I was totally high on it, still am. Have toned up a lot over these 2 weeks, feeling much more myself. Which is really what a holiday is for, so ticky-box for that!

Thanks to all wonderful Ardgour people for your company which made the whole thing work, and especially to the hard-working organisers, you rock!

Off for my flight and curling with my lovely Charley now. :-)
