Second Place in Hold-Em

What a day today was!

First, I woke up at 0800hours and I'm suppose to be at school for 0800hours. I had to rush from my house (Mississauga) to my college (Burlington), I made amazing time however, I got there in around 30 minutes when usually it takes something like 45 minutes to an hour.

In PCLB 108 (Patient Care Skills-Practical 1) we did review of the following systems:
- Sagar Emergency Traction Splint
- Scoop Stretcher
- Kenswick Extrication Device ("KED")
- Spinal Precaution Management (Cervical Collar) & Backboarding (Long Spinal Board)
- Stair Chair (Ferno #42) lifting of ~160lbs (~80kg)
- Fore/Aft lifting to a #9 (Ferno #9) Stretcher
- Usage of the Lift Assist Stretcher (Ferno #35A)

My skills are progressing but I am weak in some areas, I did well on my Sagar, my KED time was just under 6 minutes (should be done in under 4 minutes). I was able to do the #42 Stair Chair lift but need to remember to wear gloves while doing it (so the patient doesn't slip). I become too fatigued to lift after the nineth time going up & down.

Next week is going to be an extremely brutal week.

My schedule looks like this:
MONDAY
- Off
TUESDAY
- PATH 108 (Pathophysiology 1) Final Examination
- COMM 108 (Communications 1) Final Examination
- MLIE 108 (Medico-legal 1) Final Examination
WEDNESDAY
- PCTH 108 (Patient Care-Theory 1) Final Examination
- HBCI 108 (Human Behaviour & Crisis Intervention 1) Final Examination
THURSDAY
- PCLB 108 (Patient Care-Practical Skills 1) Final Assessments, Examinations and Lift Tests

On the plus side both classes for monday, ANPH 108 (Anatomy & Physiology 1) and GLTS (Guest Lecture Series 1) have concluded for the semester. The Program Director also gave me a way to make up the extra 3% I need to successfully complete the ANPH 108 course.

Work was no fun, I found out the Courtney is leaving on Saturday. I'm gonna miss her, she was one of the few people I really did get along with and she was on of the scanning support personnel who assisted the scan department in operational and ad-change issues. She will definitely be missed. Otherwise, it was a generally drab day, the front-end supervisor tried to order me to do cash, and personally, I do not like being ordered by someone when technically I have more power than she does (Health & Safety Specialist outranks Supervisory Staff-Unionized).

At 1900hours I decided that I no longer wanted to work and booked the rest of the day off, I went over to kolompak's house and we had a game of texas hold-em. I played very well and for the most part was up. However, was beaten out my Mike Strachan at the final table.
