A horrible game if I do say so myself

For those of you that didn't watch the New York Islanders face the New Jersey Devils you didn't miss much.

The Devils failed to play like a team should play, irregardless that Brodeur was not playing, it doesn't mean you just give the game away. The Devils had lazy passing, poor puck control and were not playing like a team that is at the top of their division.

After 57 minutes of sloppy play, the Devils decided to wake up realising that they would look so bad if they were beaten by a garbage team like the New York Islanders. They scored with 0:00.8 seconds left in the 3rd period forcing overtime.

Overtime was uneventful and it became the dreaded SHOOTOUT. I have ALWAYS thought the shootouts are the worst thing to come to the NHL, but now it is a playoff birth which is the deciding factor in a game. That is horrible, a playoff should NOT be decided on a shootout.

Continuous Overtime (as it is in the playoffs) should be the norm. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

End Rant.
