Multiple Failures

The results of the PCLB 108 (Patient Care-Pratical Lab 1) are still not available, however the program director came in and notified us that 4 people passed. That means that everyone else had failed at least one component of the practical skills lab, we were also told that 4 people failed move than 3 skill stations and will be required to redo the ENTIRE pratical skill lab day (all 7 stations).

My partner (the one who dropped my patient) has since withdrawn from the program, so semester 1 has seen 4 withdrawals.

Personally, I know the skills but the whole situation was extremely intimidating. Skill 1 (Stair-chair), Skill 2 (KED), Skill 4 (Lifting), and Skill 6 (Primary & Secondary Assessments) I believe that I did well on. Provided that I did not get determentally marked for the skill 4 where my partner dropped my patient.

For Skill 3 (Sagar Emergency Traction Splint), I completely drew a blank and did poorly on this assessment.

For Skill 5 (Airway Management), I did not apply supplemental oxygen to the bag-valve mask while I was bagging the patient.

However, the Skill 2 (Kendrick Extrication Device) I may have missed something that may have been a critical point.

I am worried I did not do so well and will fail out of the program.
