So. I have no idea if I passed my Pt assess. Test yet. My instructor left the papers at home and he's at an EMS conference for the next three days. I was going to hold out to study for pathophysiology until I knew wether I passed or not, because I was nearly killing myself by last week, but that's not a good idea anymore. Patho is supposed to be one of the three hardest tests we're going to have. We're going to have about twelve. So. The general concensus about the test was not good, but they've decided to have four questions removed because they didn't make any sense. This constantly happening makes the course seem a little silly. But it's one of the best and hardest around, so oh well. My first Clinical is the day after tomorrow. Respritory care unit, it sounds fun. I still have to drive up to Temple at 5 am.
My uniform needs some work though. And I'd better remember to look nicer for class, so I can get my ID done up again. My first looks like a DWI photo. I need to get my EMTB patch on my shirt though. I want to get another shirt or two as well. I also need to schedule my last 5 shifts too, oops.
We get to learn IVs next week, which will be exciting.
We had class this Saturday, practicing scenarios with pt assessment skills. Not that we got to use the oto/opthalmo-scopes or anything, but yeah. Maybe I'll just get into the oil rig thing, so I get to be a primary care person. That would be awesome and suck at the same time. Lots of money, but away from home for months at a time. Getting intense experience, but stranded alone with some huge number of men, all of whom need me to keep them healthy. But I'm looking to get married soon after finishing school, and that wouldn't concide with that. But if I get a chance to do it just for a few weeks, chances are I would so be there.
So I'll start studying for patho tomorrow.
