017; [Unintentional Video]

Sep 03, 2010 02:04

[Ratchet looks slightly... damp, though not entirely unhappy with it. Apparently, someone got sprayed in the faceplates for neglecting his communicator.]

Hmmm. That is... unusual.

Perhaps the water harmed it more than I had realized...

[Yes, Ratchet. Dropping your communicator in the bathtub is generally a bad idea. :|]

post-event, derp, robots do not swim, water and autobots don't mix, whoops, whales!

What are you?

Ah, you speak in Japanese! Fascinating - I haven't had much opportunity to exercise my ability in human linguistics.

My name is Ratchet - I am an autonomous robotic organism from the planet Cybertron. However, you may call me an 'Autobot' for short.

[OH THANK GOD even though most of that flew right over his head.]

...That is a very strange word.

You are not of Earth?

Which word do you find strange?

No, I am not. However, we left our home planet, and have been dwelling on Earth in secret for approximately two of your years.

[Attempting to say this word now.]

Ah-to-bah'to.

But...how are you capable of dwelling in secrecy? You look nothing like a human, or even any type of animal like that I have ever seen.

[Hopefully you're okay with frank questions, Ratchet.]

[He's totally used to it. :3]

That is very true; it would present quite a problem, blending in to our surrounding in our natural forms. Perhaps even more so, as outside of this vessel, we are also quite large - I would be approximately... twenty feet tall, by your measurements.

However, we are capable of scanning and taking on the disguise of a vehicle. In my case, I transform into a human emergency vehicle - While in our alternate modes, we are nearly identical to the original vehicle, and thus, more difficult to detect.

...would it trouble you greatly if I asked you to show me?

Of course - I can show you this way, however, if you wish to see it in person we can arrange that as well.

I would not object to meeting you in person.

[Because seriously, holographic Duel Monsters have nothing on this.]

Ah- I am called Yami. May I have your name?

You're a doctor.

[Wow he did not see that coming.] Or...mechanic?

Reply

[Video/Japanese] Nah, I want to do it. :'3 I'm just slow. ;3; medicalofficer September 20 2010, 19:02:12 UTC
I am what would be a considered a doctor in my own world - Which is likely similar to a mechanic in yours. However, I very much doubt that a mechanic has the experience required to work with a Cybertronian's central processing unit.

Unfortunately, I am not as skilled as I would like to be in human medicine. Particularly since my arrival on this vessel, I have done quite a bit of reading on the subject.

I must admit, I'm surprised. I would have expected a giant metal man to be better suited for fighting battles than medical work.

[Blame Japan and Kids These Days.]

I am capable of fighting battles as well - But if all of us were formatted for war only, we would have died out long ago. War creates damage, which in turn, requires repairing.
