Disproportionate responses?

I have spent some time wondering about how and why some people react to erotica on the Internet. Specifically us - people who read fic, appreciate art, watch vids, etc that are shippy or sexual or romantic in nature. Here is what I have discovered about myself:

There are four categories of reactions I have to published works on the Internet:

1. I like it.
2. I appreciate it.
3. I don't like it.
4. I hate it so much that I end up judging the person who produced it.

Allow me to provide examples:

1. It's my ship, I like the style, end of story. Eg 2oclockcheckout posts pretty much anything about Nick Jonas and I find it shockingly hot. I love him, I love the way she writes him, I flail and probably fap to it, the end.

2. I like the pairing or the theme or the style, but not all of those things. Eg sablier_bloque recs a Sid/Andy fic that is super well-written and very hot, but I can't really get into slash about cartoon characters. This applies to things like past ships, too, like how I will always read anything lazy_daze writes and love it, even though I don't really ship SPN pairings any longer.

3. It's neither my ship nor my style, but it doesn't offend me. Ummm this would apply to every fandom I'm not in. Harry Potter. X-men. Sherlock Holmes. Community. Glee. Also every kink I don't have. Bestiality. Deathfic. Whatever. That stuff exists and I'm sure it's got merit but I am just not all that interested. Live and let live, I say.

4. It's such offensive crap that I think less of the person who posted it or recced it and I think they should die in a fire. This rarely happens, but generally for me this reaction is limited to extreme displays of ignorance (which can range from poor spelling to horrifying racism) and possibly a political or sociological viewpoint that they can't adequately support intelligently. This happens so rarely that the only example I can think of is when someone writes fic that contains one of my squicks and unapologetically does not see the need to warn for it. I won't judge you for writing fic about kittens being raped by Jared's dogs, but I will judge you if you post it as a J2 non-AU and trick me into reading it.

I have been thinking about this for awhile now and I literally cannot imagine having any other reaction to erotica on the internet. Can you? Have you had reactions that fall outside these buckets? Please tell me, because I am genuinely curious.

Please be sure to specifically mention if you have ever had the kind of reaction that involves wanting to find out the real life identity of the person who produced something you didn't like and inflict some real-world damage on their life. Because that is something I would like to know about people reading my journal!
