Crazy Good
Last night sharainchains and I went to see Next to Normal at the community center. We knew it was a musical about a family with mental illness issues, but we were unprepared for the depth of the illness and the heartbreaking circumstances of the family. We cried through most of it, but we also loved it. The music was complex and the cast were strong in both their singing and their acting. The daughter had a love story and occasionally a joke would hit solidly home. It was excellent, but we needed to go out for martinis after to cheer ourselves up.
Also yesterday I finished The Woman Who Died a Lot which was very good. There were ads in the back for the Thursday Next after that so I have that to look forward to.
The toe still twinges if I walk fast of carry something heavy. I'm going upstairs ok but still need to go down one step at a time. I'm thinking of making this weekend another resting weekend. After all, it's not even warm out so why not hermit?
