The air shimmered behind him and Asmodean is standing there. A look of calm on his face as he studied the assassin momentarily. His voice was cool and dry as he spoke.

"I have a message for you."

Tsedak looks up with a jerk, and pales visibly.

Nobody is supposed to know where to find him. If he'd known Asmodean was also involved...

This was dangerous. If he found out he was taking other orders than his lover's, he was worse than dead.

He bows, mind racing. "A message. From Lady Malacoda, Great Master?"

Asmodean shook his head slightly. The calm look turned icy.

"One on her behalf."

Raising his hand, he reverse-wove a brilliant flash of fire. Calah Tsedak was gone in a moment. The metal of his knife bubbling amidst the ash. Even now, the wind began to disperse what was left of him across the alley.

The Chosen glanced for but a moment, before turning and walking away. Surely, without that treacherous assassin Malacoda could take care of herself. Ishamael, for whatever reason, had warned him of the ploy, since the Dreadlord Astoreth had so foolishly used an assassin on Ishamael's payroll.

It made sense. She had access to Ishamael's information, and underestimated the Shadow's Champion. A common mistake, and one that Astoreth would pay for dearly. Surely, Di'aliz could take care of herself against a simple Dreadlord.

Surely.
