Six Feet Under is on there! Whooooo! That's the one I had to make sure of. If it wasn't on there I would have been very very confused and unpleasant. And oh, The Daily Show! I don't usually think of non-fiction for lists like these, but they're right of course. It has to be on there. And it reminded me once again that I really need/want to see State of Play.

"Less than twelve hours until the end of the Tenth Doctor."

STOP THAT. D:

omg I just listened to White Wine in the Sun and...wow. Not only am I an atheist, but I was also raised in a Jewish family, so Christmas really means nothing to me, but I'm not religious, and I'm not even incredibly fond of much of my family, but this song is how I feel about Shabbat. I just...like the gathering.

It's a fantastic song, isn't it. I spent last Christmas away from my family and couldn't contact them, and there was so much comfort knowing that no matter where I was, they'd be doing pretty much the same thing as they always did so I knew what they were doing (which actually is drinking white wine in the sun) and that song captures that for me.

That's a really sweet thing to be able to think about when you need to.

Sadly, it only works one day a year - but then I suppose that's the beauty of those big religious holidays, even if the religious significance has been lost, it still sets aside a time every year in which everyone sets aside their schedules and is almost guaranteed to be there.

I've been disappointed with a lot of those lists, but among the usual suspects (The West Wing, Sopranos, The Office etc) on that one it's got Top Gear, The Thick of It, BSG, Doctor Who and House, all of which are big features in my decade of tv watching. It's a really good list.

Would it help if I put a different spin on it and say it's less than twelve hours until we meet Eleven?

My reaction to the last few seconds of The Parting of the Ways, despite knowing about Ten and in fact having seen Girl in the Fireplace and liking him before ever even meeting Nine, was "GEEEEEEEEEEEET OOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!", so probably not.

Actually, thinking about it, that was my reaction to Ten as well. Damn, remembering that, now I'm dreading meeting Eleven.

Even worse, that thought's dragged up my devastation at Nine's lost.

Oh, Nine. *Cries*
