Joe Ahearne, who wrote and directed Ultraviolet (the TV show not the movie) which IMHO is the best use of vampires in a tv show/film/book ever - and not just because it's got Jack Davenport as a vampire hunter - and directed a few episodes of Doctor Who is making a superhero series for the BBC. It's going to be serious, but not anything like Heroes

Ooooh re: Joe Ahearne news. *bounces* And yes, please! More Davenport! (I'm praying that Swingtown is dead and buried because the show was awful and Jack's American accent was scary!)

Zeljko Ivanek is also going to be on True Blood in some capacity so he just seems to be EVERYWHERE! He's a great actor.

I hope Swingtown is dead as well. I haven't actually seen an episode to know whether I like it or not, but I want Jack back with his proper accent.

I saw the first two episodes because of my love of Jack and my appreciate of Miriam Schor who was also in Hedwig & the Angry Inch -- I saw her in the off Broadway production as well as the film -- but it was really really HORRIBLE! And while most of the British actors I like seem to be able to pull off American accents just fine (case in point: Damian Lewis, Jamie Bamber and Marc Warren for a start), Jack's was just bizarre. He needs to speak properly!
