Only a few of us are from late in our timeline correct? But those few would be privy to events...

[Kanaya catches herself from babbling, and stares back at the sfc.]

The events of the veil first, please. I might need to know them in order to understand some of the occurrences here.

[And that is indeed a point that makes Kanaya's eyes widen and mouth drop in a silent exclamation. She swallows, listening to the bombshell. Her voice may be slightly strangled sounding.]

Have you been pushing him to avoid contact with us entirely, then? He was very uncomfortable when I had asked him for that tour of the hivestems, but I had completely different guesses as to why...

I'm not yet sure how much it's worth. I think I'm mostly startled. Since I don't remember this happening, it is difficult to hold against him. But certainly it's a relief to hear that you are supporting him.

[Kanaya is reminded that she needs to talk to Nepeta and hear what the current shipping situation is like. It is a bit preferable to think of such things than to learn that she had just narrowly avoided a death that, due to the way time paradoxes worked, she would eventually be returning to.]

A summary of the events in the Veil. Especially if explaining things in Vatheon requires knowing about what happened there, first. How many of us came here, returned there briefly, and came back with the later perspective anyway?

[The twelve of them had worked, for trolls, quite well together over the 600 hours of their game. Their failure at the end of the session, being in close quarters, and having only the twelve of them---and the humans they were trolling---for company... Okay, it wasn't surprising that they went stir crazy. Murderously so, though?

His account of Vriska's behavior in the Veil is... actually not that surprising. Though why she would fake Tavros' death, Kanaya has no guess. Eridan using his wand to kill Feferi and herself, though? Gamzee killing Nepeta?

Kanaya takes a few long, deep breaths after Karkat's question.]

I hadn't realized things would get like this. It's... frightening. But it seems like things are better now at least, so yes, tell me what's happened here.

[Kanaya will not comment during this exposition, as Karkat is clearly having a difficult time explaining it all. She listens intently, her eyes widening in a mix of shock and sympathy as he explains just what happened. This is much worse than failing the game in some ways, in part because Karkat's pain comes through much more clearly on the video than in capslocked text.]

If it were anyone else telling me, I would have a hard time believing this, because it's so unexpected. So it's not surprising that you didn't expect it would happen, even with the hint of it.

[It's a terrible situation all around, and Kanaya doesn't want to imagine what it was like for him. She nods slightly, and takes a few slow breaths.]

So. Several of us went... unstable in various ways in the Veil. All of the ones who did are now being supported to ensure there are no repeats of it in Vatheon. And those were the main things that happened over there.

[She summarizes in as calm a tone as she can manage, given everything she's just been told.]

[Everything he's said is going to take a while to really sink in, emotionally speaking. Right now she's still in a state of near-disbelief, and it probably shows.]

That is all I was hoping to know at this time. I think I'm going to need to think about all of this and how I'm going to behave with the others now. Thank you for the explanation, though, Karkat.
