The communicator clicks on as it's dropped to the floor, where you get a view of the remains of a Red Chu. Off-screen are the sounds of battle; the crack of ice and flash of magic. Keese shriek and litter the room, and a loose ice-shard hits the ground and spreads out onto it in a thin sheet.
Meryl appears on screen; or rather his lower half does, due to the angle. For your viewing he crouches down, magic flickering back into his skin, sword helping balance him.
The old man spots the communicator and reaches over for it.]
Good evening, little one. I need a snugger place to store you.
[Cloth shifts as he sits more comfortably, turning the camera towards the red jelly nearby.]
This residue they leave behind has some small healing capability. I think we might want to keep a bit of it. The bats are somewhat salvageable as well, if not particularly tasty....
[Meryl switches the feed to voice as he stands, cracking the thin ice on the floor.]
Now the task is to clean the place. Simple enough...what is this?
