Think I'll skip Scriptfrenzy. I'll file away my Ganesh Kaiju idea for another time.
Went to A-Kon last weekend. It ROCKED. Picked up some live action asian stuff (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, The Host, 2LDK, Strange Circus, and Tetsuo the Iron Man), two anime boxsets (Gilgamesh and Kaleido Star), a few car decals, some gashapon collectible figures, and one of these. I've never been one to buy one of these big anime figures, but I dig the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya that much.
Cool anime seen: Hayate the Combat Butler, Pani Poni Dash, bunch of stuff I'd already seen but wanted to see again like Black Lagoon, Melancholy, Chevalier.
Bad anime seen: Beet the Vandal Buster, Gunbuster 2.
I saw other stuff, including seeing Suicide Club for the third or fourth time (I have it on DVD). That was great to see with an audience.
The cosplay was mostly boring. The coolest thing ones were some of the Katamari cousins and Darth Vader walking with a girl wearing the swan dress Bjork wore to the Oscars. Now THAT'S style.
I'm officially going to Baltimore. Once later this month and once in mid-July. I started working on the prep for those trips this week.
Now I need to work on my DVDs. I wish I had a few days off so I could do a little DVD marathon.
