Yes, snow in May. After we went on record for having no measureable snowfall in April, and nearly the warmest March on record, yesterday it snowed. It snowed 4 inches "up the hill" (away from Lake Superior, only a mile or two inland from here), but down here not much. Well, you'll see.
Attached are some photos my husband took to record the event. The top two were taken first, around 6 pm. You can still see the green of the spring growth and pink of the swelling buds and leaves of the crab apple tree. The colour is faint but clear, showing through the the frosting of snow. The other photos were taken just before dark, after yet more snow had fallen. It looks like winter!
This morning it is sunny, the temperature above freezing and the snow is all melted. You'd never know any snow had happened!
