~45 Winding Down Fall '09
I'm in my old room in San Antonio right now. I brought the ferrets home with me and they're running around my room. I wonder what they make of all the 'old me' smells. I should be writing my Animorphs research paper. I've been trying to get it done while I've been home, but its slow going. It's for adolescent literature and it's our major research paper of the year. Ever since I finished the series I had a weird dream about being able to write a huge ass paper about how great the books were; they just meant a lot to me and there's so much depth to them. That's a really lame dream I know. *shame* I tried talking to my professor about it and she said she didn't think too highly of them, of course Weetzie Bat was on our required reading... and this is at least twice as good as Weetzie Bat. I'm trying to get this right and make something I'm really proud of. An English paper I'm proud of? You can start laughing now. I had a really killer thesis statement that pretty much summed up everything, and then I lost it a few days ago. I literally lost the paper I scribbled on. *sigh*
School is wrapping up. I nervous about some of my classes, but I think they’ll turn out fine. I signed up for next semester. It was weird; I didn’t have to run around campus or fight with departments or anything. For the first time in two years I just logged on, most everything was open, I signed up for what I wanted, and that was that! I still feel eerie about the whole thing, like I haven’t really enrolled for the spring because getting all that done takes half a week at least.
Annna stayed with me! We had a lot of fun, even thought she kind of got sick Sunday/Monday. I got to take her out to Halo last Friday. I can only hope the drag show has scared her for life. We also ran into a guy I asked out back when I was in my whole ‘I should try dating in college station’ kick. He’s a really nice guy and he’s a really happy drunk; he got a little frisky, it was really cute. He told me later that he noticed me ‘pining over him’ (a lot). He made it sound like this was his favor to me; I don’t think he likes me that way. But it was still fun. I miss kissing.
Thanksgiving went well. I’m off to run errands tomorrow before I drive back. Working Saturday night closing! Oh joy!mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";color:black">
