IPHONE 2.0! ARRRRGH

Ok I just tried to update my Iphone to the new firmware update of 2.0.  However now my Iphone appears to be completely whiped of everything. Phone numbers. Pictures.  And now it says it can only call out to an emergency line.  As if its been whiped completely.  When use Itunes to identify my phone it will only let me Eject, not sync.

Apple is pretty well fucked right now and most first gen iphones that updated are temporarily bricked.

How the fuck a I suppose to get any calls? Will I be able to get all my old phone numbers and pictures back? BAH!

Apparently someone came up with the brilliant idea that first gen iphones need to contact the registration server after updating, of course those servers are fucked right now because of the 3G release.

I have no idea on the old numbers and stuff. I was under the impression that it was supposed to do a backup of some sort to save that info prior to the update.

I am on hold with tech support now. The techy told me there was nothing that could be done but he wants me to wait a few hours. A FEW HOURS? For my phone to be fixed.

I'm asking to speak with a manager. See if I can get a month comped.
