ugh

I had a dream last night where the US had attacked Iran. I got a call from my mom early in the morning and she said, "Something happened to Iran. You're not going to like it." (Weird wording?). Then I tried to check the BBC for news, (Wow, how long has it been since I read the BBC? I've been stuck in blog-world for, like, ever.) but I was having trouble remembering/typing in the correct web address. Eventually I found out it had to do with a new Contra scandal/US attack (I wasn't even alive for the first Contra incident; couldn't my brain have picked to repeat an incident I know more about?). Then I was IN Iran with some random person and we were sneaking drinks from a water fountain while looking out for soldiers. The water fountain had about a dozen buttons on it, lined up in a row like it was some sort of expensive blender. I had a compass and a credit card, and we were planning to flee the country by night. An interesting, too-close-to-life variation of my usual nuclear holocaust dream. In fact, in the dream, I remember thinking "We nuked them," when my mom called, but then I found the news and discovered that in fact we hadn't.

To close to home, given the current political climate. Cool down, dreams.

politics, unsettling, dreams
