The cutest thing happened when we took the dog swimming last night. I took my scuba mask to look for fish, since my mom has a thing about wanting the dog to see a fish (no fish,
ghanimasun, in case you were wondering. Just rocks and dirt.). So I was swimming around, getting pretty far out (I'm guessing at least fifteen feet of vertical vis, though I didn't leave the surface), and I stop to tread and check my position, and my mom is saying, "Good girl! Good girl!--She followed you!" And I turn around and here the dog is, way further out than she'd ever been before! She swam a circle around me to say hello, and we swam back together. She was so excited by the whole thing! The rest of the evening, she either followed me or wanted me to follow her. We "raced" for the frisbee; she would check where I was and speed up if she was behind. The last throw of the night, I meant for her to get herself while I toweled off, but she looked at the lake, looked at me, and it was clear I had to go back in. It was so adorable and fun. I wish I could have watched it as well as participating.
