I got this meme from
electricant a while ago, but it was
deadsirenred who reminded me I hadn't done it. Ten things I'm grateful for that start with B:
- Backpacks, boxes and bags. I love stuff that you put stuff in! Being organized in a way that my brain thinks makes sense is soothing for me mentally.
- Backpacking. Because it's something I can do that gets me outside, exercising, and away from other people when I need solitude. It can be as challenging or relaxing as I choose. There are tactical, physical, mental, and skill components to it.
- Beer. Sometimes you get in a slump where you keep trying new beers but none of them are particularly amazing, and it gets so you don't even feel like drinking. Then you have one that's so sublime you fall in love all over again with beer's incredible potential for complexity and deliciousness. This week, Mikkeller's Funky E was that beer.
- Baths. I have to sneak hot water in here somehow, b/c hot water on demand is amazing and wonderful
- Books. For obvious reasons.
- Boredom. It's true that I'm easily fascinated, distracted, and amused. But the occasional bout of boredom makes me appreciate how interesting being not-bored can be.
- Blogs. Read, write, learn, argue...is there anything you can't do on a blog?
- Brain. I argue with it a lot and resent its stubborness probably more than I should. But I'm profoundly grateful that I can think my way through, over, or around most any problem.
- Bread and baked goods. You can have your low carb diet; I'll be over here with a baguette.
- Bacteria. They're everywhere! And so amazing and helpful in so many ways.
