Today I wrote the worst poem ever...

Feb 28, 2006 02:30

I was inspired by this little book of poems published at the university. I am going to send this one in.
I hope they accept it.
How could they not?! I used the word sorcerer!
The humour is self-evident. I think the joy of this poem is that it starts somewhere weird,
and ends somewhere weirder and completely different. I hope you laugh as hard as I did writing it.

The Pen is Hard
Watching the winter flower bloom.
Impertinence prevents the free flow of
Verbiage.
Waiting in the water of my youth.
Toxically floating from one -
To the next
And back once more
I am reborn
The mushroom of indifference
Kings will discern my word
Artists feel the removal of my sorcerer’s cap
No longer a ruse
I tend to the heart; a farmer of emotions
Sheltered by my experiences
And no one knows me.
Whine in hand,
Foot and mouth
The final chapter
Master becomes food
Bread of the soul
Mystical breathy voice
Words are my totality,
Finality.
