Tokyo Jushoden/10 Tokyo Warriors
Tokyo Jushoden (English title: 10 Tokyo Warriors) is a novel series by Taku Shoji, known for his Yamamoto Yoko series. Character designs, novel illustrations were done by Yuiga Satoru, author of E'S. She also did the manga version. Tokyo Jushoden series recently concluded with the final 13th volume release last year. This has also been made into OAV series (tho I've yet to watch them).
Summary from ANN: Long ago, in feudal Japan, there was a fierce warrior named the Demon King. He controlled a band of demons, known as the Kyouma. Only the powers of ten warriors sealed the Demon King away and kept the Kyouma under control. But now, Lord Shindigan, a powerful Kyouma is planning to free the Demon King, and the reincarnations of the ten warriors must band together and save the earth. (*"Shindigan" should actually be "Shinragan". some of the other names on the ANN article are wrong too so be careful!)
Anyways! It's still an intriguing series!

New series by XEBEC and Starchild, with Hirai Hisashi (animator for SEED series, Infinity Ryvius, Scryd, etc...) as the character designer.
Summary from ANN: Answering the call of the “Gold Race”, all the sentient races launch into space. The human race is the last to launch, and are thus known as the “Iron Race”. Much time has passed since then, and humanity is threatened with extinction at the hands of the more dominant “Silver Race”. In order to save her people, Princess Deianeira sets out on a journey to a galaxy far away, following the prophecies of the Gold Race handed down by the royal family. Then, she meets a boy named Age. Their encounter will change the fate of the universe...
