[Along comes Rosella, out for a walk despite the chill in the air. She's all wrapped up in scarf and mittens and her red woolen cloak, which might as well be a neon beacon against the white and gray of the landscape.
Oh, yes, and she's entirely oblivious to the peril she is walking into at this very moment.]

[The last thing she's expecting at the moment is for a snowball to come hurtling at her, so she completely misses her chance to dodge out of the way as it thwacks against her shoulder. But oh, boy, as soon as it hits, she's instantly alert, looking for the culprit.]
What in the world--?!
[And here she goes edging for the nearest bit of cover as she looks for her assailant. It'd be foolish to just stand around out in the open when someone's throwing snowballs, wouldn't it?]

[He can't help but smirk to himself. Another successful first hit. He almost felt kind of bad that she couldn't figure it out as fast as Ino did, but he keeps himself hidden this time and readies another one. But he gives out a warning this time]
Yo, Princess! Woulda thought you'd be more on your guard this time! [He throws it and instantly starts moving to a different fort. Because Duo totally spent his entire morning setting up forts everywhere.]

[The sound of Duo's voice immediately produces two results--the first being that Rosella visibly relaxes, since it's not some crazed eyeball-stealing psychopath about to assault her in the wilderness, and the second being that her competitive streak instantly surfaces. Oh, he's not getting away with this one.
The second snowball, she does manage to dodge, darting behind a tree for cover as she ducks and scoops up a handful of her own.]
Is that so? I'd suggest you take your own advice, Duo!
[She's an archer, she's got a pretty good arm. And this is Rosella's answer to Duo's snowball, hurled in his direction.]

[No, Rosella, Amanda Young is not in the hizzouse right now. But Duo, stealth fighter extraordinaire is! He's moved to a different snow cover and starts getting another pile of snowballs made when he feels that one get him right in his good arm. ]
You know, you have a very strong arm, princess! [here have another!]

[And it's a good thing she's not, too, 'cause Rosella happens to have a very deep grudge against that particular psychopath, and would be firing arrows her way instead of snowballs. But, being that it's Duo, snow is definitely the weapon of choice.]
I'll take that as a compliment, I think!
[Right past her ear, that one. So now there's snow in her hood and hair, and she's rubbing her ear against her shoulder to make the chill go away. The next snowball isn't nearly as well-packed as the first one is, but she can't see Duo anyway so it's not like this shot is going to be particularly laser-targeted. She'll stick with chucking it over the top of his snow cover, hoping to either peg him as he comes up or force him to stay down.]
[erk. He almost strayed right into that one and stopped just short. He stays where he is for a few seconds, trying to decide if it's worth the risk to keep moving. Staying where he is could be problematic later. But he stays long enough to throw another one at her.]
[Oops, she stayed exposed just a bit too long. A direct hit for Duo! But she's not wasting time with counting the hits, she's busy packing more snowballs.]
Then I thank you very kindly for it!
[And here come two more--the first is too low, and hits the snow cover, but the second makes it over the top. But all this packing is running Rosella low on nearby snow; she'll have to move soon, too.]
[Another dodge. He's gotten his pile well maintained now but he's running low on nearby snow himself. He really should've made some kind of system to move around....]
[Okay. Time for evasive maneuvers. With one last snowball in her hand, Rosella picks her next bit of cover and then makes a dash for it, reserving the snowball for if and when she sees Duo pop up. She may get hit for the attempt, but she'll darn well be ready to hit him right back.]
[He hears her on the run and makes a latch ditch effort himself, snowballs gathered up in an arm and starts running across the open to his other station. He's flinging them, fully prepared to be hit but that's a risk he's willing to take!]
[Unfortunately, she has but one snowball to compete with the several of Duo's, so now is the time for personal sacrifice. She skids to a halt, her feet slipping a bit in the snow at the abrupt change in movement, and gives her snowball a quick final pack to make sure it'll fly as true as possible. She's a sitting duck, and getting hit for it, but she's not going to get a chance like this again and she knows it.
She takes careful aim, leads her target, and lets her snowball fly--and, a bit unfortunately, stands around to wait and see if it hits, rather than immediately ducking for cover.]
[and it's the one perfect shot that gets Duo square in the face. It was hard enough to stop him in mid-run and knock him on his back. But he's laughing about it. He knows when he's beat.]
Not bad, not bad! Your defense could use some work though.
[Oops. A little too good of a shot, it seems--she definitely didn't mean to knock him down! So now she's booking it over to where he's lying in the snow, a little worried even despite the laughter she's hearing. But his good mood is infectious, and by the time she gets there, she's fighting back a smile, too.]
I wasn't the one preparing an ambush in advance, though. Are you all right, Duo?
Oh, yes, and she's entirely oblivious to the peril she is walking into at this very moment.]

But crap, Rosella's pretty cool. but then again this is war, no survivors, final destination. So he throws it in her direction with high hopes!]
