What is it?
Live Long And Marry is a fandom auction to benefit marriage equality. Bidding begins on July 1, 12:01 Pacific Time, 2008, and closes on July 15, 12:01 Pacific Time, 2008.
What's the cause?
The auction will raise money for the fight against the California initiative, which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones. If the initiative passes, it will write discrimination into the state constitution, and annul existing marriages.
How can I help?
You can bid on fanfic, original fic, vids, cookies, memorabilia, critique/betas, and much more! Or you can offer your skills and services as a writer, vidder, baker, knitter, or whatever else you'd like.
My life has been reduced to a cycle of feed the baby cat, attempt to sleep, feed the cat, attempt to sleep, feed the cat, attempt to sleep, ad nauseam. Oh, and then go to work and attempt to stay awake, running home every 4 hours to feed the cat. I have even more respect than before for all the parents out there. Though, it would be much easier to whip out my breast than to have to go mix up the special food, crush and disolve the pills, stuff it all in the syringe, and pump it directing into his belly through a tube. But! I'm feeling good about his chances of surviving this thing. *fingers crossed* Oh! And I don't have to burp him. I rather suck at that.
I'm looking at a Honda Civic tonight. It's a '97, but only has 59,000mi so... maybe? Someone else is looking at it this afternoon, so it could be a moot point.
