B) The suburbs of New York -probably around Staten if Mac gets her way.
C) There was a gas leak on the base; something that caused strange side effects. At the time, Haylie and Mac were in the training center together and well, the gas had a strange side effect. They'd been sparing, and as most crack cliché's go, the sparing deteriorated into wrestling, then into rolling around, and then there was less clothes and a whole lot of skin.
Somehow, twelve weeks later, Haylie found out she was pregnant, told Mac -cause she was the only candidate given the time line, and Mac promptly fainted.

E) 1. William does not take well to being teased about having two moms -but he won't wear those 'I <3 my Moms' shirts.
2. His power is the opposite of Haylie's -he can generate ice and frost and routinely does when he loses his temper. He gets hot in the collar, the room drops to an ice age. It's gotten to the point where Mac is used to damaged items thanks to excessive heat or cold.
3. He doesn't want to follow either parents in their profession. He'd much rather be a musician, and is a very talented piano player. Mac and Haylie will drive him to all the recitals he wants, because at least it's not the army.
