How I Wish You Were Here..
On Thursday morning, 23rd of February, my lovely friend Melanie Andrews lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
She was such a precious little angel, so full of life despite such a tragic illness that beset her short yet wonderful life.
I can remember her always being strong and she never let CF get in her way of living life to the fullest she could. Always upon her cherubic face was a smile and in her big heart was kindness and friendship for everyone.
The memory that has been in my head the strongest was my 13th birthday party and she'd not been long out of hospital yet she still came to my party. Dressed in her simple little jeans and a lovely top, she made the most of it and even went in for a chat with my mother. She was such a good girl.
There are so many stories one can tell about this precious angel, who now is hopefully in a place where she can relax and be without pain and suffering.
Mel, she was just always so strong. Never did she complain about how she had to stay in hospital all the time (even over Christmas), miss out on school and friends and Adam (a friend at school) told me about how she was always on the nurses' cases! Such a cheeky little munchkin.
I could go on forever, but it's getting harder to stop my crying now.
Mel was sent to everyone's lives who knew her to inspire and teach us many lessons. I'll never ever forget her or the wonderful time I got to know her.
