It's been a while, huh?
I wanted to post the pics from Silver Week first, but after going through them and realizing I had 100 pics(and that was AFTER I cut it down), I decided to post pics from my hiking adventure today, instead. I'll probably post the Silver week pics in a 2-part post later.
But right now.
VOLCANO ADVENTURE.

How cool kids prepare for getting up at 5:30 AM to go hiking. By staying up until 1:30 AM and drinking beer.
It was rainy and gloomy in Sapporo, but beautiful and clear at Mt. Meakan.

This dog was named Kororo. She belonged to the owners of the onsen at the foot of Meakan, and she stuck with us the entire way up and back down. Personally, I think we just didn't look like we knew what we were doing, and she wanted to make sure we got back alive.

BTW, team. Volcano's smell. Really really bad. I'm still trying to get the smell of sulfur out of that jacket.

There was another dog, too. This one was named Moko, but he/she was following a different group of hikers/hated gaijin.

Way to go, hair-tie. You sure kept the hair out of my face.
The trail looped around, so we walked down the main peak, Aisling, Wheels and Saul wanted to hike up the other peak, as well. I would have gone, too, but around now is when my hiking shoe decided to...fall apart, I guess. So I decided not to risk hiking up the steep mountain, even if it wasn't that far, and started heading down with Rachel and Will. I let them take my camera, though.

Apparently this is one of the only lakes in Japan where marimo grows naturally. That's cool!

After wards we went out and had a celebratory drink, but all the pictures I took of that night turned out crappy. So. Use your imagination.
