Of forbidden love

Lataal  snuck in through the top tier of the tavern.  He knew that she was still going to be gone for her training, but part of him hoped anyway.  He sauntered over the rope bridge glancing down below.  Mari was below tending to customers.  The druid jumped taking the fast route coming to a spot at Mari’s feet.

It took her a moment to spot the cat.  Finishing up at her table she came by and scratched him behind the ears, “Looking for your pretty paladin are we?  I’m afraid she’s still training.”

The druid settled onto the floor resting his chin in his paws.  He tried not to think of her, but there was something strange.  Since he had started staying close to her, she was all he thought of.  Even the Kal’Dorei he had been courting didn’t seem as important.

Mari patted him gently sensing his distress, “I didn’t realize you cared so much, does she know?”

Lataal lowered his head into his paws shaking his head.  He wasn’t one for flighty relationships, and it scared him a bit to feel this way so fast.  No matter how he looked at it, the whole thing just felt right, he loved being in her company, loved being able to hold her close.  Having her on the other side of the war just made things more difficult..

“Like I said friend, she will be back soon enough.  Just be sure to let her know how you feel.  She should know.”
