House Update!!
OK - started the dreaded TV/office/library room.
Unfortunatly ran into significant issues with the plaster so much of the wall repair is on hold until I get specific fasteners - had to order froma Boston hardware store - fingers crossed they come beofre the end of next week!
Otherwise made some more major fixes with drywall - like the old bathroom door opening spanning 32" without a stud (there was a 1x1 that went up about 4 feet from the floor- what was that about?) and nothing fastening the edges to the doorframe except some mud.
Sanded the ceiling and hope to second mud coat seams and nail heads tonight. I HATE working on the ceiling, but all things considered I am going to try and knock it out (as in "get it done") in the next few days, install a new light fixture and just have it out of my hair while I wait for wall repair materials. The bummer is - I can't move forward on the floor without the wall repairs becasue of issues with trim - there is trim I need to remove and don't dare until I can stabilize the plaster. So hopefully I will get the stupid plaster things and can move on with my life.
Seriously, I think the Jan 1 deadline is about hopeless to have everthing done but I am going to keep at it and see what happens. Might have to finish up the dining room after the 1st of the year.
And I am questioning my timing on the kitchen. I really want to have a decent kitchen but I was going to put that off until I did the bathroom upstairs but I am feeling impatient. I can visualize what I want in the kitchen - on the cheap.
*sigh* However, I have to make ANOTHER repair to my car from misguided four wheeling last Summer - never again taking my passenger car off road!
