[There's not very much to this text other than what's written. There doesn't really need to be all things considered.]

What do your pokémon mean to you?

[Humor him, he's genuinely curious.]

I've only had my Pokemon for a little while, but I'd like to think that she's my friend, someone I can rely on.

How can you feel that strongly so quickly? It sounds foolish to me.

Well, I can tell that my Pokemon relies on me, and wants to help me, and I feel the same way. We enjoy each other's company, and we work well together. I definitely think of her as a friend. Why is that foolish?

That is on par with an employer beleiving they are liked because the men they pay come to work every morning. Most of the time it is not so.

That is why it sounds foolish- is not as if creature can communicate coherently with you after all.

I'm afraid I don't agree with you there. I don't think of my relationship with Jewel is that of an employer - we're partners, and we both look after each other.

I'm sure your Pokemon care for you, too.

There is no such thing as an equal partnership. One of you is more powerful than the other, and the other will resent that fact.

I don't really see it as a question of power. We both have different skills that we bring together to make things better for both of us.
