Ok this is the first speed-blog I've posted. What a way to kick this off. Todays subject: "Slave Wages". I've recently been looking over sites like guru.com, rentacoder.com, scriptlance.com for possible out sourcing opportunities.
My first complaint, asking for full time employment for less than minimum wage. Do employers not realize that #1 you get what you pay for #2 employing someone for less than minimum wage opens you to lawsuits.
Telecommuting, does this make me a person or a PC? Just because a programmer is sitting at his desk in a remote city doesn't make him any less of a human being. This same programmer could be sitting in a cubicle in some 'sick-building' programming environment in a city he doesn't want to live in flipping you the bird. The reason we are telecommuting isn't because we want to be paid less money.
My second complaint - if you can't afford a Porsche don't try and buy one, get a f***** escort you poor bastard. What I mean is, if you can't afford the software you want developed, don't even request it - don't even think about owning it, cause you can't afford it you dumb ass! That is unless you like paying people in India, Pakistan, and other countries that could give a shit about the economy you operate in. After all when I get paid from you, I'm going to buy your foreign competitors products or services anyways.
It makes me sick to think that people get paid less money to program than the guy bottling my water. Programming is by far the most difficult art and science on the face of this planet. Every aspect of your life has been touched by computer software. From the t-shirt you're wearing to the toilet paper you wipe your ass with.
