I totally went
here last night. We met up at O'Brien's, a beer bar on Convoy, then walked to Chorus, a Korean booth-style Karaoke joint (read: you sing with friends, not in front of a bunch of drunk assholes at a bar).
Goods?
1. Ridiculous videos of men and women swallowing fish, then pouring whiskey all over themselves
2. Standards like Forgot About Dre (I had no idea I knew it so well, I blame J), Bye Bye Bye (Dan knocked it out of the park), and Smooth
3. Tasty sweet potato fries and (very weak) soju
Bads?
1. I forgot my camera.
2. Smells like bleach.
3. 'Spensive!
Honestly, SingStar/Rock Band etc. make this activity less unique. BUT! I had a lot of fun, and it's a different experience singing in a room with a crazy red and green disco ball and mics with hyper-charged volumes. My vote? GIVE IT A TRY. Bring a LOT of people, though. You rent the room by the hour and can cram as many people in as you want, so it's cheaper if there are a lot of you (think 10-15).
