The view is pointed at a wall, where what looks to be a child's drawing has been hung up. The paper is shriveled and thin, probably due to being soaked at some point, but at the very least the image on it is

He is older at least. ...No longer a child.

That sure counts for something. I mean - all of us had to take a trip through childhood.

He was not this old the last I saw him in my world. I will never see him like this again.

[He's getting ready to say something - but when he catches that last little bit, his mouth clamps shut.

I do not know how to even begin--I only know I will not be there when he is this age.
