Yuletide Letter!

So cool that you got my letter, like imagine that! You must be a really awesome person to be into my fandoms ;)
I have below my standard likes/dislikes list, and some feeling about and prompts for each of my fandoms, but what's most important to me is that you have a good time writing it! Don't force yourself to write a prompt just cause I put it up, that's not what the season's for! Winter is terrible, and holiday exchanges are meant to bring whatever sliver of light is possible in these dark times. IMO, at least.
Standard likes/dislikes list:
- Happy endings, or at least fulfilling sad endings. But generally happy endings. I like my angst to be healed by the end.
- I do like it when a character is viewed in a way that's different to the general fandom take. Someone's generally considered 'the smart one' or 'the level-headed one'? Show their f'd up internal monologue. Or how 'the good guy' secretly doesn't care, or how 'the bad guy' idn't actually care about any of it, he had a whole other agenda.
- I really adore misunderstandings in general, and two-sided miscommunications, like when characters are having an argument, or one overhears a convo that means one thing to one side and something totally different to the other.
- Ethical sluttery: While I do adore will-they-won't-they, my heart lies with happy poly people, whether this means a committed moresome or a committed relationship with one-night-standery. Make any ship I've listed a threesome, or an open relationship, or just have them flirting with other people. IF YOU WRITE SEDORETU YOU GET AN AUTOMATIC WIN EVEN IF IT SUCKS.
- Coming out stories or anything else involving gender/sexual identity as a main plot point (with or without modern-day labeling thereof) is nice :)
- My all-time fav: self-deprecation. Character thinks they don't deserve the relationship/promotion/happy life for some reason = excuse for plotty/character-developmenty/shippy H/C! Preferably if it doesn't dissolve into blatant whump just for the sake of h/c, but I like it to hurt me in the chest.
- I don't mind fluff, but I prefer emotional stories, whatever the emotion. This is inclusive of love, angst, anger, anything.
Kink sublist, in no particular order, italics are particular favs:
possessiveness, BDSM, fluff after a bad mission, fluff after a bad sex session (for any reason - triggery, tried something the other partner didn’t like, etc), lactation, fisting, sounding, prostate milking, sex toys, medical play, orgasm denial, rimming, trust, edging, consensual dub con, sexy dubcon, loving without actually verbalizing the words ‘I love you,' consensual humiliation, noncon if the emhasis is on H/C or it's an interesting take on the ship.
AU sublist:
Canon AUs rock, wherein one thing changes and everything after that changes accordingly, or where the universe is intact but most other things are different. This is opposed to a total AU (which I also dig), wherein characters meet at:
School or college (students or teachers)
Any sort of professional workplace, from a general store to the UN- massive bonus points if the author has RL experience in said setting

Sports AU- I will marry you for this, particularly if you actually teach me about the sport. Ping pong to Olympic diving, idc.
Fusions- HDM is an utter winner, ABO is good as long as it's more complicated than a straight-up romance, D/s is great. Gonna say this again, IF YOU WRITE SEDORETU YOU GET AN AUTOMATIC WIN EVEN IF IT SUCKS.
Genderflipped canon AU is great, particularly if gender is not the focus
Racebending is win, end of.
Band AUs, I've recently had a craving
Incubus/succubus AUs, whether a complete AU or just three one change to canon, are a soft spot.
Writing dislikes:
Instantaneous or inexplicably fast attraction/relationship/sex. Pointless fic, IMO, unless you want PWP.
Mental torture without H/C or extensive physical torture without H/C. I like it as a plot point, but I care more about the characters than the acts themselvs, so focus on the former, por favor.

General takes on ships, prompts, preferences: feel free to ignore these if you think of something that flows better. Fandoms are not listed in any order of preference.
ATTENTION: Apparently if you select multiple characters you're askin your writer to include them all. I did not realize that and definitely do not require it in my story. Some of my prompts would make not a lot of sense if all the characters were included. If we matched, for example, on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and your story includes only Vision doing cool android things I will be totally fine with it.

Here are some more prompts, listed under Crueltide. Although Crueltide is usually downer fic, if you're going to use these prompts, which would be fine with me, I'd like the to go happy ending.
Political Animals: Susan Berg, Elaine Barrish, Douglas Hammond, Thomans "T.J." Hammond
This was a six-episode miniseries on USANetwork, which is currently available on Netflix and (slightly sped up) on YouTube.
All the ship. Every ship. Any ship. These people suck at relationships so much it's like a train crash, and I love it. Surprise!gay, surprise!straight, surprise!oh-shit-you're-not-my-SO-good-morning, anything goes. I will accept slash, femslash, het, poly, sedoretu anywhere of course, incest, age difference, secret relationships, kink, BDSM, anything as long as there's ship.
I'll admit to particular appreciation for TJ and for Susan, but that does not mean I won't appreciate a Douglas- or Elaine-centric piece, just that I'd like some of the others in there as well.
BIG NO: No sort of crossover with anything Marvel. I love Sebsatian Stan and Bucky too, but I want the beauty that is Political Animals to get some credit for itself! Other crossovers are fine, though I'd prefer if you stick to one of my shows, which are, luckily, legion: My Fandoms.
**This is a fandom I wouldn't mind getting straight up (though not necessarily straight ;) porn for if you are stuck, preferably with TJ and/or Susan.
Prompts: The happy-ending cliche dream every viewer has: make TJ happy. Will accept any ship, though ship does not have to be the focus. Creative ideas and realistic portrayal of any of TJ's many issues are encouraged!Douglas comes clean to Anne about his affair with Susan. Anne is... not as unhappy about this as she should be.
Susan's feeling toward Elaine are complex. When she's offered a position on the new President's staff, things get even more complicated.
Smut prompt: Susan/Douglas/TJ, Susan/Douglas/Anne. ANY SEDORETU SMUT ACCEPTABLE.
A family dinner with the previous agreement to not discuss politics and not to manipulate. It's harder than expected. (Any characaters welcome)
Susan's professional reputation has shifted after the events of the series; for better and worse.

Emelan- Tamora Pierce: Daja Kisubo, Trisana Chandler, Sandrilene fa Toren, Briar Moss
The Emelan universe is found in two four-book series and a few standalone books, with some extra-canonical short stories in a collection called Tortall and Other Lands. These were published between 1997 and 2013, and are popular enough to be found in many libraries' YA sections. They're very quick reads.
I would love to see any of the main four falling in love, with OCs, with each other, as a three or foursome, asexually, with fighting, falling in love with an outsider causing conflict in the circle, anything as long as they are portrayed as adults, like Will of the Empress or after, not as kids. They can be together, separate, do whatever you want with the telepathic bond, scrap it if you like, make it suuuuuper sexy, whatever.
Prompts: Apparently it's awkward being mentally in contact with someone who's experiencing lovey or sexy feelings. THis could go a few ways. (any ships)
Post TWotE, Daja's house is full again, but for how long? Work, secrets, trauma, and/or new friends get in the way of the rediscovered relationships. Being together [in whatever form author desires] is going to be a lot less easy than it was before they broke apart.
Someone (Tris?) grabs Briar by the ear and shakes him and asks what he thinks he's doing with the constant stream of women.
Pregnancy and the circle. Fluff? Angst? Anger?
Sandry: being heir to the throne & romantic relationships.
A pair of the circle falls in love; how does this effect the other members? What about if three of them want to be together?
Common Law: Travis Marks, Wes Mitchell, Alex MacFarland Mitchell
This was a 12-episode long series on USANetwork in 2012, which can be found on on Project Free TV.
One thing I really liked about this show, and about the fics that were quickly created for it, and about the fandom that quickly was established even in its one-year run, was the very varying strength of Wes and Travis' relationship, and the many many ways it could be interpreted. A lot of buddy cop shows and police procedurals have discord, but in the end you know the partners or the team or the department are all in it together. With Wes and Travis the relationship really felt strained enough that they could cause each other damage, could hurt cases or reputations or break laws or objects or regulations if things got bad enough. With Alex and Wes, I got the impression of what was once a very strong and trusting relationship that has been split down the middle and left behind two unconnected parts that still fit together perfectly. I really ship both pairs, and am wide open to OT3 (OR SEDORETU!!!).
Prompts: TFW you can't stand the sight of your soulmate.
The slow death of this relationship tastes the same as falling in love in the first place.
Saying something cruel in the heat of a fight, and being unable to apologize because you meant it.
Is it wrong to fall in love and out of love at the same time?
Coming back together when it matters the most.

Divorce is bad enough, but when there's three people involved and only two of them can't be together anymore, it's a whole new level of complicated.

This was a 6-episode long miniseries on BBC-three in 2006. It can be found on Veoh, admittedly in a mildly annoying format. If you're like me and get frustrated trying to read the numbers, I counsel thee, take a deep breath and keep looking, they're all there I swear on my mama's mac 'n cheese.
Right off the bat I'll adore absolutely anything for this show, it literally doesn't exist at this point on ff.net or AO3. I heavily ship Jase/Mani, particularly if it involves someone giving Jase a slap upside the head or him otherwise coming to his senses and stopping all the lying and decieving shit, but I also really like Fi as a person, adore Mani, and think Nathan is really funny if a dumbass.
Prompts: Five years post-show, where are they?
Jase and Mani move in together.
Christmas goes a bit differently that year.

This was a two-season, 52-episode long cartoon series on Disney XD from 2010-2012. It can be found on Netflix and on Youtube.
I adore every aspect of this show. I love the humor, the way every character gets a turn in the spotlight, the plot development, the outfits (omg I love Hawkeye's outfit if you include anything about that, even a throwaway comment, it's an extra gold star). Basically anything you do with these characters (Or Clint, arg I didn't nominate him I'm a dumbo, completely ignore this if you want) will make me happy.
**This is a fandom I wouldn't mind getting straight up (though not necessarily straight ;) porn for if you are stuck, preferably in-character porn for any combo of [Bruce/Hulk], Clint, Natasha, and Jan will make me happy, along with Steve/Tony or a first time Vision/anyone.
[Long headcanon ramble about Bruce/Hulk]Bruce and Hulk have a very interesting relationship-- how did they come to this arrangment, is it difficult for them? Comfortable? Worse for one than the other? Does Bruce ever get to meet the Avengers properly, and what does he think of them and vice versa, and what do they think of him as part of the Hulk and vice versa? Does Bruce get along with T'Challa? Jan? Why don't Bruce and Clint get along as well as Clint and Hulk? Why do Clint and Hulk get along as well as they do? I'll ship Clint with either of them, and feel free to bring in Black Widow if you want, in any way ;) How did Bruce and/or Hulk feel about the team after being freed from the shock collar in S2? Did their long imprisonment affect the way they felt about Clint and/or the team? Hulk POV is also sweet. And if you make Betty Ross a thing in this universe I'll pimp your fic to all my friends I swear.
[Long headcanon ramble about Steve Rogers]///can i point out/// that Steve had a ///very shitty/// time during the Skrull Invasion? I submit the following dialogue from the show: "The Queen wants to learn how to make these humans submit." "So break him!" "It's been two of their Earth months, he still hasn't broken." "He hasn't given us anything." "He's taken punishment that no human should be able to withstand." "Our scientists are shamed." "They have no idea what's keeping him going." WHAT WAS KEEPING HIM GOING?!?! Further, what effect did this have on him going back home?!?! And then getting replaced by a synthezoid by Ultron a few eppies later, and then getting mind-controlled by the Purple Man a few episodes later, meanwhile being hated by the public and introduced to a new team member for the first time, all after /just/ waking up in this new universe?! GIVE THIS MAN SOME H/C FOR ME!! I would adore Steve/Tony or bringing Bucky back, but it's tots fine as gen or without Bucky.
[Long headcanon ramble about Tony Stark]This version of Tony Stark is so much calmer, better at leading people and being friendly, barely complains when people smash his stuff, and straight-up founds the Avengers and invites them to his home and gives them cool stuff. I haven't seen much woobie!Tony in this fandom, but I think there's a fair bit of material to pull from if you read between the lines, as one must in a kid's show like this. Like, Tony starts out wishing for someone to help him carry the world, and he gets a team at last, which has various growing pains, and then all the shit that happened in season 2!! Like suspecting that your team was made of imposters, which apparently messed him up enough that he voluntarily went back to being alone, then learning that Steve (who he seemed very close to) was the Skrull the whole time, nearly dying at the hands of the Queen Skrull and being told how instrumental he was in the takeover. Then he got replaced by Ultron's synthezoid, mind-controlled into taking over the world and nearly killing Steve by the Purple Man. Also I submit these lines from the show: Tony: "Think that went pretty well as far as our workouts go. I only blacked out that one time." Skrull!Steve: "Is that how you remember it?" What was it like rubbing elbows with a hostile invader version of Steve? How did this affect Steve and Tony's relationship when everything got back to normal?
[Not as long headcanon/ramble about Vision]I adore Vision's origin story in this canon. I love that he was made to serve Ultron and /did/, but decided /by himself/ that he wanted to be different. I also love how he quickly adapts and works against and with the Avengers in Emperor Stark and how cute he is when Clint and Carol tell him not to call something easy. I'd love to see anything about him learning how the Avengers work as flawed and human individuals, any of his conclusions about humanity or other races, any basic living things like figuring out food as a cultural artifact when he doesn't need to eat and also his density is variable.
Prompts besides those above: Jan walking in on one of the above-mentioned couples doing anything from cuddling to canoodling.
