slipping into cold

The world was warm today

my body’s radiation

I walked so far today

Your eyes: retaliation

And now that I mention

something about your eyes

I’ll laugh when you glare at me

Because I see a world inside.

It’s not your secret anymore

I know what you can hold

Why the air around you is

Always so bitter cold -

I noticed when you touch me

all the world goes mute

Brain: silent; Signals: gone

I reach out for touching you

The black sky blots the sunshine out

so no one sees you drive

your fingers in my fingers and

you’re holding me to life

but the thing about your fingers is

it calms me to just hold

my eyes meet the world in yours

and I’m slipping into cold

I could get out but I won’t try

I love the way this is

Your icy eyes are searching me

And bitter waves are crashing in

But I’m frozen in your dark eyes

I don’t mind being yours to hold

It looks like I’m giving in

Slipping into cold.
