Zombies, RUN!

Picked up a new exercise app recently that I'm enjoying heavily. Go check it out!

Just to give you a feel (and because WritingBrain demands it), Runner 5 will be leaving musings and reports after runs.

They didn't tell me much more than where I was going before I got on the helo to Able Township. Typical 'Need-To-Know" BS here at Matheson, but I guess it doesn't matter now. Aplha Five Niner was shot down a few miles out form Abel, some sort of rocket. NOBODY told me anyone out here had that sort of hardware!

Alpha Five Niner, I never got any other name for her, did the best she could. Then again, once the tail rotor went out... I jumped before we hit, I don't think any of us want to think about if she survived that landing or not.

Sam Yao, in the comm tower at Abel, guided me in via radio. Managed to pick up a little something while ducking thru the hospital to convince Abel to open the gates, despite the train of Shamblers strung out for blocks behind me. Thank you CDC, for making your emergency boxes so easy to ID on the fly.

Looks like they're down a runner or three, and since Matheson refuses to send out any more helos until they figure out who shot down Alpha Five Niner, it looks like I'm going to be here a while...

Runner 5, checking in a but delayed. Runner 7, Evan, took me out on The Grand Tour. Glimpses of New Kent, the two fallen metropolises in the near distance, the burnt out remnants of a group known as the Scoobies. Got a good look at why Able Township is still standing, supply and Shambler problems aside.

7 and I grabbed a fair haul whe we were out: some clothes, biotics, even a pair of axes. That's on top of the 'chute of batteries and ammo we ran across.

It's good to feel useful, needed. Helps when I lie awake at night, wondering how folks back at Matheson Base are holding up.

On a lighter note, that iPhone I found (and am recording on now) was chock full of music, so two of Sam's buddies have put together a radio programme of sorts. News, survival tips, music music music as long as the solar USB charger holds out.
