My First Earthquake!
I was sitting on the third floor of a building in UCLA, when suddenly the floor started rumbling. I thought it was like, a truck, or a train, and then kinda realized that had not happened at any point earlier and then it was still going and then everyone was looking around and then it was getting worse and then things were kinda swaying and were were all like "WHOAH" and there I was like "Holy god, wait, what do we do in an earthquake, and OMG this building doesn't seem safe, and I don't even know where the stairs are!!" and some people were kinda like "Well, it's clear which of you aren't from California, you're the ones standing up and freaking out", though even the Californians were looking a little worried.
And then it was over.
And then we kinda went "Um, I think that means it's time for lunch so that if there are aftershocks or anything, we are not in this building anymore". And that was apparently everyone's plan, because we went outside, and everyone was standing around. Couldn't even send any texts for quite a while, the cell networks were too busy.
They say it was the biggest earthquake here in quite a while, so everyone, even the Californians, was fairly excited, rather than blasé.
Apparently it was a 5.4! Um. So, now I've done that, and thanks, don't need any more of those, mmkay?
