[There's things about the dream Zoey couldn't decipher on her own but the feeling of helplessness seemed to swallow her whole as she watched. As if there was truly nothing she could do...]

I'd heard that dreams were recorded on these things, but I didn't actually think it would happen.

Surprise, it's true. Part of this place being a dream world means your dreams will show up on this thing.
